There’s More; Pamela Stanley’s UnEthical Encore

After reviewing the School Ethics Commission’s initial ruling, I realized there were 3 additional violations against BOE Member Pamela Stanley that were found, by the Commission to be substantial.

The codes in the original article (N.J.S.A.18A:12-24 (b), (c), (f)) fall under Conflicts of Interest for Board Members and they are as follows;

N.J.S.A.18A:12-24.1 (c) I will confine my board action to policy making, planning, and appraisal, and I will help to frame policies and plans only after the board has consulted those who will be affected by them.

N.J.S.A.18A:12-24.1(e) I will recognize that authority rests with the board of education and will make no personal promises nor take any private action that may compromise the board.

N.J.S.A.18A:12-24.1(f) I will refuse to surrender my independent judgment to special interest or partisan political groups or to use the schools for personal gain or for the gain of friends.

Of the latter Ethical Codes that have allegedly been violated, Board members take an oath to abide by these. Although there are not formal ramifications for violating these codes, the Board IS RESPONSIBLE for policing its own, it is in the best interest of the Board, the District and our town that Pamela is held accountable.
