What’s Important to Know About Berkeley Heights This Week…

Last week, Berkeley Heights Families learned that the current BOE Majority will continue to prevent them from having access to meetings via Zoom. They voted for a measure that further muted BOE Members while giving more power to the BOE President – all of this points to a majority still obsessed with appearances and controlling messaging.

Families also learned that more money came out of their children’s classrooms into the hands of a firm still assisting the BOE Majority in pursuing the remnants of a largely defunct ethics claim against a fellow BOE Member and in defending that same majority in the multiple claims that were validated by the SEC as a result of this action.

All of the above occurred as US News and World Report published two more ranking lists with Berkeley Heights Schools at the bottom.

Sai and Natasha thanked the community for their support. Still, given the policies that continue to come out of the Policy Committee with the BOE President and Majority’s support, one has to wonder what more this current Board will do to make the community’s desire for change harder to realize in the coming year.
