Traffic Safety

A recent accident involving a young resident of Berkeley Heights prompted testimony from several residents on traffic concerns on Park Avenue and in general.

Since the accident, a petition has been circulating throughout the community advocating for the following:

1. reducing the speed limit to 30 mph for the length of Park Avenue

2. installing permanent automated speed monitoring signs at both ends on Park Avenue, facing both directions 

3. posting a prominent speed limit sign on Park Avenue right after the turnoff from Mountain Avenue.

Affordable Housing

One resident asked about the potential impact of the recently passed affordable housing legislation. The Mayor said she would meet with the Council President and others to review the legislation and determine its impact on Berkeley Heights.

The Mayor presented a Proclamation honoring the Governor Living Girls Swim team, who recently won another championship.
