Subscription Busing

Tier 1

Household not on a hazardous route and makes at or above the median income for Berkeley Heights Households – $1000

Tier 2

All Caregivers demonstrate proof of employment, do not live on a hazardous route and make below  the median income (basement of 80%) for Berkeley Heights Households – $500

Tier 3

All Caregivers demonstrate proof of employment, do not live on a hazardous route and make below 80% of  the median income for Berkeley Heights Households – $0

 

Hazardous Routes

Tier 1

Household makes above the median income for Berkeley Heights Households – $500

Tier 2

Household makes at or below the median income for Berkeley Heights Households – $0

 

Criteria for Hazardous Route:

For this year the BOE can vote on each route indicated on the failed policy to determine hazardous routes.  BOE Members can also add routes on a majority vote.  The passage of the list must include a requirement  that the District determine hazardous routes based on metrics to be voted on by the BOE by November 2024 otherwise it moves to another route by route approval as indicated above.

Median Household Income of Berkeley Heights NJ as per Census is ~196,000

Number of dependents within a household could be plugged into an equation to account for impact on income.
