Parent Reaches Out on AP Exams & Home-schooled Children

Community VoicesEducation

A Berkeley Heights Parent Reached Out to NJ21st on AP Exams and Her Interaction with the Board of Education:

Email from Parent:

Good morning!
I am so happy to report that GL is allowing my homeschooled children to take AP tests at their school!

I think this step towards inclusivity may be interesting to other residents!

In my search for a testing location, I found that many nearby public school districts, such as Chatham, Livingston, Bound Brook, Raritan, Millburn, Maplewood, were already allowing their homeschooled residents to take AP tests at their schools.

Now, thanks to the support of some BoE members, Berkeley Heights can be added to that list of districts that support all their residents!

Please let me know if you would like more details on this story. Thank you!

Reply from NJ21st:

Hi Carla,
Would you like us to publish this and can you elaborate on which BOE Members were helpful?

Reply from Parent:

Hi,
Yes, I would love for something to be published!

Dr. Foregger, the curriculum committee chair, Ms. Bhargavi, Ms. Khanna, and Ms. Joly, members of the BH Board of Education, were instrumental in overcoming all the red tape.

Please let me know if you would like more details
