Town Council Question

A resolution concerning Deerpath Lane, which appears similar to a contentious $450,000 proposal voted through at the last meeting, appears on the agenda for today’s unusually scheduled Town Council meeting at 5:45 p.m. This timing, combined with lingering concerns from the prior meeting, has left residents and stakeholders asking even more questions.

The previous meeting highlighted significant unresolved issues surrounding the $450,000 resolution. Despite these concerns, the council voted to move forward, with the Mayor emphasizing the urgency of utilizing a grant before it expired. However, the unanswered questions still loom large:

Why is curbing being added without seriously addressing the questions that remain on drainage in connection to the prior resolution?
New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) guidelines are particularly strict about drainage in grant-funded projects.

Why wasn’t the Deerpath Lane resolution discussed in the last meeting?

Why is this special meeting happening on a Monday evening at 5:45pm?

Why aren’t significant Council meetings being made available to the public on YouTube?

As of now, no Council meetings have been uploaded to the township’s YouTube channel since October 8. In contrast, a steady stream of “Happening in the Heights” videos continues to be released (with updates published on October 13, October 25, and November 1).
