NJ21st recieved an email from a Berkeley Heights resident after the publication of Mr. Samson’s article that included all of the Executive Orders signed by Mayor Devanney in 2024 and 2025.  These documents appeared to be the product of an OPRA request submitted on 02/01/2025.

Executive Orders Signed from 2024 through January 2025

As a follow-up to our January 17, 2025, article on the  NJ OSC investigation into police training that promoted unconstitutional tactics, NJ21st submitted an OPRA request for invoices related to these trainings for the BHPD.

According to documents from the township, one BHPD officer attended training sessions conducted by this vendor in 2019 and 2020—the period covered in the OSC investigation—at a total cost of $344.

Additionally, we received records predating the OSC investigation (from 2017) showing that two BHPD officers participated in training from the same provider, with a combined cost of $398.  Training provided by this vendor during this time period were not part of the OSC Investigation.
