Berkeley Heights Town CouncilTown Council Agenda and Meeting Summary

In Amended Agenda…During the Lamest Duck and Last Meeting of the Year

What was a Turf Field, then not a Turf Field is now a “Sports Complex” .

The proposal dated on 12/11 is looking to be approved 5 days later during tonight’s meeting.

As NJ21st has previously reported the Township used early engineering and planning actions to fast track large facilities projects before full public clarity is provided. This contract for the Lower Columbia project follows a similar pattern.

The no-bid contract authorizes a fee not to exceed $111,000 to produce the final plans needed to put the project out for construction bids.

Funding for the contract will come from two sources: $72,460 from the Town’s 2025 Recreational Improvements account and $38,540 from the Local Area Improvement – Lower Columbia account.

Harbor Consultants was previously deemed qualified by the Township through a Fair and Open process earlier this year. The resolution authorizes the Mayor to execute the agreement and takes effect immediately.

According to NJ Elec and as previously reported Harbor Consultants has donated to various political campaigns throughout the state and county including…
