This Week at NJ21st: Rights, Budgets, and Accountability

Newsletter

This week’s newsletter starts with three educational pieces as we add to our Understanding Your NJ Government series with a walkthrough on municipal budgets, break down another core component of understanding school budgets through a new entry in our ACFR series, and publish an explainer intended to help residents safely assert their rights when confronted by federal agents.

Laura takes a closer look at what’s going on with school ethics bodies as we continue to peel away at an increasingly murky picture.

On the local level, Laura shares new developments connected to affordable housing in New Providence, which is staring down a significant number of units with a few important unanswered questions. A local educator shares an update on the Madison School District’s report card revamp, and John provides an update on the ongoing tension between the District and the teachers union surrounding Policy 2624.
