No Redline, No Explainer: Resident Presses Council on Pulled Connell ‘Density Bomb’ Ordinance

Affordable HousingBerkeley Heights Town CouncilEnvironment

During the 02/17/2026 Berkeley Heights Town Council meeting, a resident asks simple questions about the Connell mixed-use ordinance that got pulled. There was no redline, no side-by-side changes and no plain-English explainer for something that could reshape the scale of development and impact traffic and infrastructure.

This is happening while Council still doesn’t allow Zoom public participation, has disabled transcripts (we worked around that), and has also disabled screen sharing (we worked around that too). Now the Ordinance is back on the 03/03/2026 agenda with changes.

We broke down what’s different on the 03/03 version here: https://bit.ly/4b3b6xS
