NJ21st is interested in documents or footage you may have obtained through an OPRA Request or during public meetings. Employees of School Districts or Townships who choose to utilize this tool as a means of whistleblowing on important issues should be aware of their rights and responsibilities.

Whistleblower Protections and Confidentiality:
New Jersey law, including the Conscientious Employee Protection Act (CEPA), provides protection for public employees who disclose evidence of wrongdoing, illegal activities, or threats to public safety. Additionally, New Jersey’s Shield Law provides protections that prevent journalists from being compelled to disclose confidential sources or unpublished materials obtained in the course of newsgathering.
