Petition claims that cuts to AP Classes are Looming for Governor Livingston

Berkeley Heights BOEEducation

UPDATE: Cuts to classes with low enrollment have been confirmed. How many classes being cut is unclear

A petition entitled “Governor Livingston High School Budget Cuts to AP Courses” indicates that “The planned budget cuts by the Board of Education will remove AP courses such as AP Physics and AP Italian from the Governor Livingston High School curriculum.”

We are investigating this further because we need clarification about the information’s source and the accuracy of claims made within the petition. We were aware that cuts to Italian were planned for next year. Currently, these claims do not appear to be verified….but it wouldn’t surprise us.

This petition rolls out as the Budget faces persistent criticism for its generosity towards Administrators and Lawyers while planning cuts for teaching positions.
