Another Loss for the District

Another note for tonight’s agenda- Mike Skara – Technology Coordinator – has resigned after 17 years with the District.

It is yet another departure in what can reasonably be considered a bleed in a District that appears to be in chaos. This resignation occurs amid accusations of a hostile work environment by a former long-time principal and questions concerning an alleged Affirmative Action Investigation involving Central Administration that remain unanswered by the BOE President.

I have not had many dealings with Mr. Skara, but the few times we exchanged emails, he was professional, courteous, and matter-of-fact.

I will let those who worked alongside him describe his tenure:

A truly dedicated, hard-working employee, often working nights and weekends.

He’s very loyal and professional.

Easygoing, always with a smile and kind words.

An avid runner and an all-around good guy. A huge loss to the District.

He has not been treated well.

We wish Mr. Skara and his family the best and thank him for his years of service.
