Stucco, Ivy, and Curb Appeal – Finally, Something Not Under Investigation

Home of the Month

It’s well past time for another round of “My Favorite Houses,” Berkeley Heights edition. (John loves this!) This submission features a very unique home that some residents may recognize. Oftentimes, in the real estate world, “charming” is code-word for small and outdated. In the case of this one-of-a-kind house, charm really does mean charm.

The home’s lines could be considered Cape Cod in architectural style, but the exterior finishes recall old-world European cottages. The stucco on the sides of the house is complemented by brick accents around the windows, climbing ivy, and a stone column on one side. A stone-lined gravel drive leads to a separate, complementary garage.

Between the house and garage is a beautiful stone and brick wall with an iron gate that leads to the backyard. A mix of small plantings, shrubs, and mature trees lend a sense of privacy to the lot without overshadowing this quaint beauty of a house. What a treasure!
