Andrea, the young EMT whose search for a kidney donor we’ve been following received a kidney transplant yesterday at Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center.
“The transplant happened yesterday,” Andrea’s mother told NJ21st Thursday. “She’s doing very well, everyone is pleased. Andrea is very happy.”
Following the surgery, Andrea and her family thanked everyone who donated toward her medical expenses, shared her story, signed up to be tested, attempted to donate a kidney or otherwise supported her throughout the search.
NJ21st joins the community in wishing Andrea continued healing and a smooth recovery.
